Christ our Perfect Mediator and Redeemer

All of scripture is written to bring us to faith in Christ as our Savior, Mediator, and Redeemer. The Book of Job is no different, the Holy Spirit moved the author to write words helpful to his suffering people in every era of redemptive history, and the suffering is meant to bring us to a stronger faith in Christ.

Job, a Righteous Man

THOUGH HE SLAY ME, YET WILL I TRUST IN HIM (JOB SERMON 9)

"We're not so familiar with: ‘our God is a consuming fire.’ We're not so familiar with the transcendence of God, the infinite holiness of God, his majesty, that proper dread should come upon us in time, in his presence. So this I believe is a profound basis of Job's astounding piety."
